Palo Santo literally translates into holy wood. It has been used since ancient times by shamen, medicine men and even catholic priests. It is found in many countries throughout South America. It has been known to drive away negative energies, evil spirits, and brings good luck. It is a powerful cleanser with a rich earthy scent.

Palo Santo is unusual in the way that it is harvested. The tree braches fall naturally and then they are left to sit for 4-10 years before they are collected and cut into small pieces. It is a highly respected tree.

Palo Santo burns slowly as it its a dense wood rich in substance and good vibrations:) When finished it is good to leave it set in a safe place ( a shell or a pot) it will extinquish itself quickly.
